The information provided below is current as
of the 1997 legislative session. Staff at NAIC
are not attorneys and are not qualified to give
legal advice. Those who wish to locate more
information should contact either their State
Adoption Specialist or their State Bar Association.
Several methods may be listed for obtaining
information in any one state. Depending on the
circumstances of the adoption, and the information
available to the seeking party, one method may
prove better than another. For more information
related to individual situations, please contact
your State Adoption Specialist. A listing
of State statute Webpages is also provided.
